We recently made a trip back up to Krashnaya Rechka to visit our host family from our first three months in country. They treated us to a steamy hot banya and then some delicious food (host mother is an excellent cook!). Then...what better to do in the snow than to jump on a sled....! My host father pulled me through our village on a sled while my host mother pulled her granddaughter - we were like two princesses on parade! Here's a video of our fun - Theo is the camera man:

New Year's with Lenin
Santa, Father Frost comes on New Year's here. This is the big tree in the center of town next to the "White House". We bought I smaller tree for our apartment for $1 USD. I believe this statue of Lenin is the largest in Central Asia.

2007 Highlights
Here are some of the highlights from our first three months here in Osh. Our first professional conference presentation together, Meg's co-workers and the teachers she works with, the Thanksgiving "turkey" that was made for a school celebration - love the effort, Theo feeling on top of the world (or at least on top of a small mountain), and Theo looking stunningly handsome in a traditional Kyrgyz hat....what will 2008 bring??
